Few treks pack this much into a single journey. The Gokyo Lakes, Cho La Pass, and Everest Base Camp Trek is the ultimate Himalayan adventure — combining the turquoise glacial lakes of Gokyo, a thrilling 5,420 m high mountain pass, and the legendary trail to Everest Base Camp. Stand at Gokyo Ri for what many consider the finest panoramic view in all of Nepal, then cross the icy Cho La Pass before setting foot on the ground where mountaineering history was made. And the finish? A scenic helicopter flight from Lobuche to Lukla — because this trek deserves an exit as dramatic as the journey itself.

Our team receives you at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfers you to your hotel in the heart of Kathmandu. After settling in, the city is yours to explore — ancient temples, bustling bazaars, and streets alive with colour and culture. Kathmandu has a way of pulling you in from the very first evening. Rest well tonight; the mountains are waiting.
Your day begins with a guided tour of Kathmandu Valley – exploring iconic landmarks steeped in history and culture. In the evening, our team sits down with you for a full trek briefing, walking you through the itinerary, permits, and what to expect on the trail. Use the rest of the day to sort any last-minute gear, pack your bags, and get an early night. Tomorrow, the adventure truly begins.
An early morning flight from Kathmandu brings you to Lukla, one of the world's most thrilling mountain airstrips. From here, the trek begins in earnest. Our guide leads you down through terraced hillsides and rhododendron forests, following the Dudh Koshi River valley to the quiet village of Phakding. A gentle first day on the trail — just enough to find your rhythm before the real climbing starts.
Today the trail gains real character. From Phakding, our guide leads you through pine forests and suspension bridges to the checkpoint village of Jorsalle, where you enter Sagarmatha National Park. The final push to Namche Bazaar is steep — but the reward is worth every step. Perched at 3,440m, Namche is the Everest region's buzzing hub, with teahouses, bakeries, and your first jaw-dropping glimpse of the Himalayas.
Acclimatisation days are non-negotiable at altitude — and this one comes with a view. Our guide takes you on a rewarding hike up to Khumjung, a traditional Sherpa village sitting beneath the iconic peak of Khumbila. Explore the local school and monastery before descending to Kyangjuma, where the day ends with sweeping Himalayan panoramas. A shorter day on the legs but a big one for your body adjusting to the altitude.
Leaving Kyangjuma, the trail climbs steadily through forests of pine and rhododendron as the valley scenery grows wilder with every step. A short stop at Mongla offers a well-earned rest and sweeping views across the Khumbu. From here, our guide leads you on to Dole – a small, peaceful settlement perched above the treeline. The air is thinner now, the landscape more raw, and the Himalayas feel closer than ever.
The trail continues its steady climb today, tracing the Dudh Koshi River deeper into the Gokyo valley. Our guide leads you through open alpine terrain with dramatic ridgelines on either side, before arriving at Machhermo — a high-altitude village at 4,470m. This is serious yak country now, and the thinning air is a reminder to take it slow. A short, manageable day designed to keep your acclimatisation on track.
Today delivers one of the trek's most breathtaking moments. Our guide leads you up through moraines and glacial terrain until the impossibly turquoise waters of the Gokyo Lakes come into view — a sight that genuinely stops you in your tracks. Sitting at 4,790m, the sacred third lake is the crown jewel of the valley. Settle into Gokyo village tonight, knowing tomorrow you climb Gokyo Ri for the views of a lifetime.
An early start earns you one of the greatest views on Earth. Our guide takes you to the summit of Gokyo Ri at 5,357m as dawn breaks over Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu — four eight-thousanders in a single panorama. Descend back to Gokyo village for breakfast, then continue east to Dragnag. A big day in every sense, but Gokyo Ri at sunrise is the moment this entire trek is built around.
Today is the most exhilarating day on the trail. Our guide leads you from Dragnag onto the Ngozumpa Glacier, picking carefully across the icy terrain before the steep ascent to Cho La Pass at 5,420m. The crossing demands focus and energy — but standing at the top, with the Khumbu spread out before you, makes every step worth it. A steady descent brings you to the calm of Dzongla for a well-earned rest.
The trail from Dzongla joins the classic EBC route at Lobuche, where the landscape turns raw and otherworldly — a vast glacial moraine stretching toward the highest peaks on the planet. Our guide leads you onwards along the rocky Khumbu Valley floor to Gorakshep, the last settlement before Everest Base Camp. At 5,164m, the altitude is serious here. Settle in, hydrate well, and rest — tomorrow is the day you have been waiting for.
The day you have trekked every step for. Our guide leads you from Gorakshep across the Khumbu Glacier to Everest Base Camp at 5,364m — stand where legends have stood and let it sink in. After soaking up every moment, head back to Gorakshep before making the long return descent to Lobuche. It is a demanding day in thin air, but reaching Base Camp makes it one you will never forget.
A thrilling 30-minute helicopter flight from Lobuche sweeps over glaciers and Himalayan peaks to Lukla.
Weather permitting, a short domestic flight returns you to Kathmandu.
If conditions close in, we overnight in Lukla and fly the next morning. Back in Kathmandu, our team transfers you to your hotel before a farewell dinner with traditional Nepali cultural performances.
If you arrived yesterday, enjoy a full day exploring Kathmandu — visit Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square, or unwind with souvenir shopping and a traditional massage in Thamel.
If delayed by weather, your morning flight from Lukla brings you to Kathmandu in 25–30 minutes. Our team transfers you to your hotel, and the evening ends with a well-deserved farewell dinner celebrating your incredible achievement.
