First Day of Trekking – Bhulbhule to Taal Village
Begin your first day on the trail from Bhulbhule, following the scenic path alongside the Marsyangdi River as you gradually make your way deeper into the Annapurna region. The route passes through traditional villages, terraced farmland, lush forests, waterfalls, and dramatic river valleys, offering your first real taste of life in the Himalayas.
As the trail climbs and descends through the valley, the landscape becomes increasingly rugged and mountainous. By the end of the day, arrive at the beautiful riverside settlement of Taal Village, surrounded by steep cliffs and cascading waterfalls. Settle into your teahouse, enjoy a warm meal, and rest after a rewarding first day of trekking.
Trek from Taal Village to Chame
After breakfast in Taal Village, continue your journey deeper into the Marsyangdi Valley, following a scenic trail through dense forests, traditional mountain settlements, and dramatic rocky landscapes. Along the way, cross suspension bridges and pass through villages such as Dharapani and Timang, where the surroundings begin to feel increasingly alpine.
As you gain elevation, enjoy impressive views of the Manaslu and Annapurna ranges while walking through beautiful pine and rhododendron forests. The day ends in Chame, the administrative headquarters of Manang District, where you can relax in your teahouse and enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere after a rewarding day on the trail.
Trek from Chame to Upper Pisang
Step out of Chame as the high snow-capped giants officially make their grand entrance! Today’s journey marks the dramatic transition into the rain-shadow zone of the Manang Valley, featuring dense pine woods, a refreshing pit stop at the famous Bhartang apple orchards, and sweeping mountain panoramas as you climb into Upper Pisang.
Trek Upper Pisang to Manang via Ghyaru, Ngawal & Bhraka
Considered by many to be the single most scenic day of the Annapurna Circuit, this high-route trek takes you along the northern ridge of the valley. While the initial climb is demanding, you are rewarded with world-class, unobstructed panoramas of Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, and Tilicho Peak before descending past ancient monasteries to reach Manang.
Acclimatisation & Rest Day in Manang
Today is a dedicated acclimatisation day designed to help your body adapt to the thinner air before pushing higher toward Thorong La Pass. Following the key rule of high-altitude trekking—"Climb high, sleep low"—you have flexible options today ranging from a relaxed, slow-paced village exploration to a challenging high-altitude day hike.
Trek from Manang Village to Tilicho Base Camp
After breakfast in Manang Village, begin a spectacular journey toward Tilicho Base Camp, leaving the main Annapurna Circuit trail and entering a more remote and dramatic Himalayan landscape. The route passes through Khangsar Village before continuing along rugged mountain trails surrounded by towering cliffs, barren alpine terrain, and impressive views of Tilicho Peak and the surrounding Annapurna range.
As you gain altitude, the trail becomes more challenging, with narrow sections and steep slopes requiring a steady pace and careful footing. Upon reaching Tilicho Base Camp, settle into your teahouse and rest in preparation for the early-morning hike to Tilicho Lake, one of the highest-altitude lakes in the world.
Trek From Tilicho Base Camp to Tilicho Lake and Decend to the Shree Kharka
Begin the day early with a challenging ascent from Tilicho Base Camp toward the magnificent Tilicho Lake. The trail climbs steadily through a rugged, high-altitude landscape surrounded by snow-covered peaks, rocky slopes, and breathtaking views of Tilicho Peak and the Annapurna range.
Upon reaching Tilicho Lake, take time to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and spectacular Himalayan scenery before beginning the descent. Retrace part of the trail back toward the valley and continue down to Shree Kharka, where you will settle into a teahouse for a well-earned rest after one of the most memorable and demanding days of the trek.
Trek from Shree Kharka to Thorong La High Camp via Yak Kharka
After breakfast at Shree Kharka, rejoin the main Annapurna Circuit trail and continue toward Yak Kharka, walking through open alpine landscapes surrounded by dramatic Himalayan peaks. As the trail gradually gains altitude, the vegetation becomes sparse and the terrain more rugged, offering beautiful views across the upper Manang Valley.
From Yak Kharka, continue toward Thorong Phedi and, depending on your energy level, acclimatization, and overall physical condition, proceed further to Thorong La High Camp. Since this is a high-altitude section of the trek, the day will be approached carefully and at a comfortable pace. If the body needs additional rest or the conditions are not suitable for continuing upward, the overnight stay may be arranged at Thorong Phedi instead.
The priority throughout the day is proper acclimatization and preparation for the challenging crossing of Thorong La Pass the following morning.
Cross Thorong La Pass (5,416m) & Descend to Muktinath

After breakfast in Muktinath, begin the descent toward Jomsom, leaving the high-altitude landscape behind and entering the dramatic Mustang Valley. The trail passes through traditional villages, dry Himalayan terrain, and wide river valleys with impressive views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and the surrounding peaks.
Continue along the Kali Gandaki Valley, known for its unique landscapes and strong mountain winds, before reaching Jomsom, one of the major settlements of the Mustang region.
